The 1500×500 format at a glance
The X (formerly Twitter) header measures 1500×500 pixels at a 3:1 ratio. It is the wide banner image above your profile and is partly covered at the edges and at the bottom behind the profile photo.
What it's good for
- Personal or brand branding above your profile
- Pointing to a current project or campaign
- A visual frame that matches your profile photo
Common mistakes
- Placing key subjects in the bottom left, where the profile photo sits
- Placing text too close to the narrow top and bottom edges
- Squeezing a tall image into the flat 3:1 format
How it works
- 1 Drag your image into the box or choose it: JPG, PNG, WebP and other common formats.
- 2 Move and resize the frame until the crop fits. The aspect ratio 3:1 is fixed, and “Auto-center” finds the subject on its own.
- 3 Choose the file format (JPG, PNG or WebP) and the quality if needed.
- 4 Download the image at exactly 1500×500 pixels, ready to upload.
Frequently asked questions
What size is the X / Twitter Header?
The recommended size is 1500×500 pixels with an aspect ratio of 3:1. Your image is downloaded at exactly this size.
Will my image be distorted?
No. The aspect ratio is fixed, you only choose the crop. If your subject doesn't fit the format at all, “Fit” places the whole image inside and fills the edges with a blurred version of the image.
Do location and camera data stay in the image?
No. When saving, metadata such as EXIF, GPS location and camera info is removed automatically. That protects you when you share images publicly.
Are my images uploaded?
No. With this tool, your image never leaves your device.
Is the tool free?
