The 1600×900 format at a glance

For images in the X feed, the 1600×900 landscape format (16:9) works most reliably. It shows in the timeline without heavy cropping and stays easy to read on every device.

What it's good for

  • Posts with a graphic, quote or screenshot
  • Announcements and link previews with a clear image
  • Post series with a consistent 16:9 look

Common mistakes

  • Posting portrait images, which get cropped heavily in the timeline
  • Placing text at the edges, where the preview cuts it off
  • Making important details too small for the mobile view

How it works

  1. 1 Drag your image into the box or choose it: JPG, PNG, WebP and other common formats.
  2. 2 Move and resize the frame until the crop fits. The aspect ratio 16:9 is fixed, and “Auto-center” finds the subject on its own.
  3. 3 Choose the file format (JPG, PNG or WebP) and the quality if needed.
  4. 4 Download the image at exactly 1600×900 pixels, ready to upload.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the X / Twitter Post Image?

The recommended size is 1600×900 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:9. Your image is downloaded at exactly this size.

Will my image be distorted?

No. The aspect ratio is fixed, you only choose the crop. If your subject doesn't fit the format at all, “Fit” places the whole image inside and fills the edges with a blurred version of the image.

Do location and camera data stay in the image?

No. When saving, metadata such as EXIF, GPS location and camera info is removed automatically. That protects you when you share images publicly.

Are my images uploaded?

No. With this tool, your image never leaves your device.

Is the tool free?

Yes, with no sign-up, no installation and no watermark from us.
