The 1080×1350 format at a glance

The 1080×1350 portrait format (4:5) gets the most reach in the Instagram feed because it takes up more screen space than a square while scrolling. It stands out more without looking like a Story.

What it's good for

  • Single posts that need maximum attention in the feed
  • Portraits and product photos with a vertical composition
  • Content you use in both the feed and Stories

Common mistakes

  • Going taller than 4:5. Instagram crops taller images in the feed automatically
  • Placing the main message too low, where the visible area ends
  • Pushing text and logo out to the narrow side edges

How it works

  1. 1 Drag your image into the box or choose it: JPG, PNG, WebP and other common formats.
  2. 2 Move and resize the frame until the crop fits. The aspect ratio 4:5 is fixed, and “Auto-center” finds the subject on its own.
  3. 3 Choose the file format (JPG, PNG or WebP) and the quality if needed.
  4. 4 Download the image at exactly 1080×1350 pixels, ready to upload.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the Instagram Portrait Post?

The recommended size is 1080×1350 pixels with an aspect ratio of 4:5. Your image is downloaded at exactly this size.

Will my image be distorted?

No. The aspect ratio is fixed, you only choose the crop. If your subject doesn't fit the format at all, “Fit” places the whole image inside and fills the edges with a blurred version of the image.

Do location and camera data stay in the image?

No. When saving, metadata such as EXIF, GPS location and camera info is removed automatically. That protects you when you share images publicly.

Are my images uploaded?

No. With this tool, your image never leaves your device.

Is the tool free?

Yes, with no sign-up, no installation and no watermark from us.
