The 1080×1080 format at a glance

The square Instagram post at 1080×1080 pixels is the feed classic and keeps your profile grid tidy. The 1:1 format looks the same on every device and is especially good for carousels with a consistent look.

What it's good for

  • Single posts with a clear, centered message
  • Carousels where every slide should look the same
  • Product and quote graphics for a consistent feed grid

Common mistakes

  • Placing important details right at the edge, where they are barely visible in the grid preview
  • Cropping portrait shots to a square and losing part of the picture
  • Uploading a low resolution, which makes the post look blurry in the feed

How it works

  1. 1 Drag your image into the box or choose it: JPG, PNG, WebP and other common formats.
  2. 2 Move and resize the frame until the crop fits. The aspect ratio 1:1 is fixed, and “Auto-center” finds the subject on its own.
  3. 3 Choose the file format (JPG, PNG or WebP) and the quality if needed.
  4. 4 Download the image at exactly 1080×1080 pixels, ready to upload.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the Instagram Post?

The recommended size is 1080×1080 pixels with an aspect ratio of 1:1. Your image is downloaded at exactly this size.

Will my image be distorted?

No. The aspect ratio is fixed, you only choose the crop. If your subject doesn't fit the format at all, “Fit” places the whole image inside and fills the edges with a blurred version of the image.

Do location and camera data stay in the image?

No. When saving, metadata such as EXIF, GPS location and camera info is removed automatically. That protects you when you share images publicly.

Are my images uploaded?

No. With this tool, your image never leaves your device.

Is the tool free?

Yes, with no sign-up, no installation and no watermark from us.
