How it works
- 1 Open the page on your phone and allow the camera. On a computer it works with a webcam, a handheld scanner or by typing.
- 2 Pick "List" for goods receipt and stocktakes or "Single" for one code. If you like, enter a location for the next scans.
- 3 Hold the codes up to the camera one after another. Repeat items count up, plus and minus fix the number.
- 4 If you like, load the delivery note as Excel or CSV to see right away what's missing or extra. At the end, save as Excel, CSV or a PDF record with signature.
How the tool works
What it does
You scan barcodes and QR codes one after another with your phone camera, for example at goods receipt or during a stocktake. Repeat items count up in the list, and each line can have a location and a note. Load the delivery note as Excel or CSV and the check shows right away what's missing, what came in excess and what wasn't ordered.
How it's built
Codes are read with zxing-cpp as WebAssembly right in your browser, just like in "Read barcodes and QR codes". The camera image and the list never leave your device; the list is kept in your browser's storage. GS1 labels are split into item number (GTIN), batch, best-before and expiry dates. Excel, CSV and the PDF record are created on the device too.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. With this tool your file never leaves your device.
How many codes can I scan?
As many as you like, there's no daily limit because everything runs on your device. The list stays saved in your browser, even when you close the page. For big stocktakes, save it as Excel now and then, because clearing browser data takes it with it.
Are there limits on file size or page count?
The main limit is your device, because that is where the work happens. Files up to 100 MB work reliably. With very large files, an older smartphone needs a little patience.
Is the tool free?
Yes. All tools on Gatefrog are free to use, with no sign-up, no installation and no watermark from us.
