How it works

1 Drag your PDF into the box or choose it.
2 Choose the trim size (or “As in original”) and whether the page is fitted or filled edge to edge.
3 Set the bleed, the method and the marks you want, with your own text in the slug line if you like.
4 Download the PDF with trim size, bleed and marks. Trim size and bleed are stored in the file as TrimBox and BleedBox.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. With this tool, your file never leaves your device. Even with Google Drive or Dropbox, it comes straight from your cloud to you, without passing through us.

Will my file be converted to CMYK?

No. The colors stay as they are. Most online print shops convert RGB files themselves. If your print shop explicitly asks for CMYK or PDF/X, ask them for their requirements. The tool does not check color space, image resolution or fonts. Your print shop's requirements always come first.

Are there limits on file size or page count?

The main limit is your device, because that is where the work happens. Files up to 100 MB work reliably. With very large files, an older smartphone needs a little patience.

Is the tool free?

Yes. All tools on Gatefrog are free to use, with no sign-up, no installation and no watermark from us.
