How it works

  1. 1 Drag your PDF into the box or choose the file, also straight from Google Drive or Dropbox.
  2. 2 Choose the mode: add registration marks (with bleed and slug width) or hide existing marks by cropping to the trim size.
  3. 3 Start processing. It happens right on your device.
  4. 4 Download the result. Done, no sign-up and no watermark from us.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. With this tool, your file never leaves your device. Even with Google Drive or Dropbox, it comes straight from your cloud to you, without passing through us.

Are there limits on file size or page count?

The main limit is your device, because that is where the work happens. Files up to 100 MB work reliably. With very large files, an older smartphone needs a little patience.

Is the tool free?

Yes. All tools on Gatefrog are free to use, with no sign-up, no installation and no watermark from us.

What are registration marks?

Registration marks are crosshair marks at the edge of a print-ready PDF. Print shops use them to check that the color separations (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) line up exactly. They sit outside the trim size, in the bleed area, and get trimmed off after printing. Not to be confused with crop marks (which show where to cut) or fold marks (which show where to fold).

What exactly does this tool do?

In Add mode, the tool extends the page with bleed and slug areas, sets TrimBox and BleedBox to print standards and places four registration marks in solid CMYK, so they show up on all four process plates. In Hide mode, the page is cropped to the stored trim size (TrimBox), giving you a clean view without printer's marks, ideal for client proofs, web PDFs or archives.

It all happens right on your device. Your print files never leave it.
