How it works

  1. 1 Drag your bank statement into the box or choose the file, also straight from Google Drive or Dropbox.
  2. 2 In your online banking, download the bank statement as CAMT (XML) or MT940, not as PDF. Choose Excel, CSV or view it on the page.
  3. 3 Start processing. Your file is transferred encrypted and processed in Germany.
  4. 4 Download the result. Done, no sign-up and no watermark from us.

How the tool works

What it does

Turn your bank statement into a clean table with date, amount, name, IBAN and payment reference. As Excel, CSV or to view right on the page.

How it's built

It reads the bank formats CAMT.052, CAMT.053, CAMT.054 and MT940. Batch bookings are split into their individual items, and at the end there's a balance check: opening balance plus transactions has to equal the closing balance. Your file is sent encrypted, processed in Germany and deleted right afterwards.

Good to know: Bank statements in PDF format don't work. But your online banking almost always offers an export as CAMT or MT940.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to my files?

Your file is transferred encrypted and processed in Germany only for this one conversion. It is deleted right after the result is delivered; the content is neither stored nor analyzed. For very sensitive documents, we recommend our tools where the file stays on your device, such as “Redact patient data”.

Where do I get the file?

In your online banking, under transactions or statements, there's usually an export as CAMT, CAMT.053, XML or MT940. These files contain every transaction in machine-readable form. A PDF bank statement won't work here.

Are there limits on file size or page count?

Yes, so the tool stays free for everyone: up to 20 MB per file. On top of that there is a generous daily allowance. Once it is used up, you can continue the next day.

Is the tool free?

Yes. All tools on Gatefrog are free to use, with no sign-up, no installation and no watermark from us.
