How the tool works

What it does

You design your own business card: name, job title, company and contact details, plus logo and color. A QR code sends your contact details straight to a phone, on the front or the back as you prefer.

How it's built

The card is built in your browser with pdf-lib; text and QR code stay vector. The code holds a vCard that any phone camera recognizes as a contact. The print-shop PDF is 85 × 55 mm with 3 mm bleed, CMYK colors, embedded fonts, text at 6 pt or larger and at least 4 mm from the edge, saved as PDF/X-1a:2001. Your logo is converted to CMYK for this.

Good to know: Scan the code from the screen once before printing. Custom colors often look brighter on screen than on paper; the preset colors are tuned for print. On your own printer, print double-sided and flip on the long edge.

Are my files uploaded?

No. With this tool your file never leaves your device.

What’s in the QR code on my business card?

Your contact details as a vCard: name, company, job title, phone, mobile, email, website and address. The phone camera recognizes the code and offers to save the contact. The code holds the data itself, with no detour through a link or our server.

Are there limits on file size or page count?

The main limit is your device, because that is where the work happens. Files up to 100 MB work reliably. With very large files, an older smartphone needs a little patience.

Is the tool free?

Yes. All tools on Gatefrog are free to use, with no sign-up, no installation and no watermark from us.
